Norwegian cross-genre record producer and inspirational DJ Matoma, known for worldwide hits like “All Night” with British pop band The Vamps, “I Don’t Dance” with Latin music icon Enrique Iglesias, and his RIAA Platinum-certified breakout hit, Matoma & The Notorious B.I.G’s “Old Thing Back (feat. Ja Rule),” is releasing his first global single of 2024 in time for summer and a run of newly-announced summer festival performances in the US and Norway.

“I’ve spent most of my winter here in Norway, but also dreaming of the warm memories of the summers past - and wanted to present a sound and a vision that combined the beauty of these two worlds that transports the listener with a feeling of blissful escape. It’s a mix between the Nordic emotional beauty and the feel good Ibiza vibes” - Matoma

Co-written with Norwegian rising star SKAAR, recently winning Songwriter Of The Year in this year’s Norwegian Spellemannprisen, as well as Magnus Clausen and Tonino Speciale, the song explores the concept of being saved by someone or something that brings colour back and joy back to a life where it became lost. SKAAR’s haunting vocals ensnare the listener with this tension (“I’ve been losing faith / so I just hide away / in the darkest places /over and over again”) before building hopefully towards a euphoric release with Matoma’s melodic and explosive production (“in the darkest hour / you return my colours / ‘cause you found me”).

“‘You Found Me’ is one of the first singles I wrote in my new studio in Oslo which is filled with beauty and magic from my childhood roots. Hilde (SKAAR) and I immediately connected and started exploring this concept of being saved by something or someone that restores everything good inside of you. I want people to feel that music can be their saviour.” - Matoma

“I’m so excited to share this song with the world! It was such an honour to be invited to write for Tom’s project in the first place so I was just happy to be a part of the session. So when we came up with ‘You Found Me’ and I instantly felt in my gut that this was something special, that just felt like the icing on the cake for me. I love this song and feel like the topline is very much my musical DNA and the production is Matoma’s!! So it feels like a very natural and organic collab that I’m very proud to be a part of” - SKAAR

The single follows Matoma’s announcement of his new 17-stop Summer 2024 Tour, which kicked off last weekend with his debut performance on the main stage of Neon Festival in Trondheim. The tour sees even more main stage slots across his homeland including the iconic Slottsfjell and Ypsilon festivals, as well as his return to the US for a handful of key dates including 4th July at Skyline Drive-In NYC, and closing the summer at his favourite clubs in Washington D.C. and Boston.

Matoma is well-known for expressing positivity through his music and through his charitable donations. In April of last year he showcased three billboards on the i-10 highway; originally intended for promoting his new music, but with the tragic war continuing in Ukraine, he decided to put them towards raising funds and awareness for the Ukraine humanitarian aid organisation Music Saves UA. Matoma’s billboards received worldwide news coverage from outlets across the globe. Most recently it was announced that Matoma is working with the local county of his birthplace Flisa to develop a multi-room multimedia studio complex for free use for the local community, funded in by a contribution from his One In A Million Foundation and supported with his team’s efforts and network in the years ahead. “You Found Me” follows the 2023 release of Matoma’s latest album “Love For The Beat” with key single “Easy To Love” with Armin Van Buuren and Teddy Swims, and most recently a run of Top 10 Norwegian releases in Norway alongside his appearance on Hver gang vi møtes including smash collaborations “Barn som deg” with local legend Gabrielle and “Samurai Swords” with Swedish superstar Miriam Bryant.
